Weeks of 4/28 & 5/5

My Recent Activities (Week of 4/28)

Tuesday was a Yuba Water Agency Board of Directors meeting. The agenda includes a significant item related to the City of Wheatland and south Yuba County:

  • Receive an update on the progress of the South County Infrastructure project and consider approval of up to an additional $6.2 million grant to the City of Wheatland and Olivehurst Public Utility District to complete the design and engineering of Phase One (Wheatland to OPUD) portion of the project

I do not have any other board and committee meetings on my calendar this week.

Additional items on my calendar included speaking at a press conference in Sacramento on behalf of the Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) in support of SB 769  (the Golden State Infrastructure Corporation Act), and two meetings with constituents to discuss transportation projects.

I headed to DC in the second half of the week for Cap-to-Cap 2025.   On Friday, I participated in a transportation and housing tour of northern Virginia hosted by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) followed by a dinner hosted by Choose Folsom and Visit Placer.  Saturday I didn’t have any work related items so my wife and I visited the People House Museum, went to the top of the Washington Monument, and Went to an Orioles game in Baltamore.  On Sunday, I had a flood protection related brunch and then we attended the Cap-to-Cap Chair’s Reception followed by a dinner for the Yuba-Sutter delegation attending Cap-to-Cap.

This week, community events on my calendar included the Plumas Lake Walking Moai
