My Recent Activities
Tuesday is a Yuba County Board of Supervisors meeting. A few highlights from the agenda include:
- Approval of the FY 25/26 draft budget (see it at here)
- Appoint to the South Yuba Transportation Improvement Authority (SYTIA) Supervisor Jon Messick as a Director and Supervisor Andy Vasquez as the Alternate.
- Receive an update on the Yuba-Sutter Regional Safety Action Plan.
- Approve reappointment of David Villanueva to the Plumas Lake Specific Plan Design Review Committee as a Resident Representative with a term ending January 10, 2027.
- Approve appointment of Doris Luther to the Yuba County Commission on Aging as a District Four Representative to a term ending January 8, 2029.
I have several other board and committee meetings on my calendar, including:
Additional items on my calendar include a Development Meeting with Hard Rock, a SACOG Sacramento County tour, meetings with constituents, and a monthly American Leadership Foundation (ALF) session. Tuesday evening is a Wheatland City Council meeting (agenda), but I can’t attend due to a conflict.
This week, community events on my calendar include the Plumas Lake Walking Moai, a Chamber 25th Anniversary Celebration at Toyota Amphitheater (info), and a preview of Steel Magnolias at the Sutter Theater.
Looking ahead to this week
Tuesday is a Yba Water Agency Board of Directors meeting. A few highlights from the agenda include:
- Approval of the proposed FY 25/26 budget
- Consider a grant to the Yuba Watershed Protection and Fire Safe Council
- Receive a presentation concerning the Agency’s 2025 Watercraft Screening plan for New Bullards Bar Reservoir, and consider adopting Resolution No. 2025-12 of CEQA Notice of Exemption for the plan.
I have several other board and committee meetings on my calendar, including:
- Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) Carrier of Last Resort AdHoc Meeting
- Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) MegaRegion Working Group
I have a few other board/committee meetings this week that I can’t make due to conflicts, including Yuba Sutter Transit (agenda), a Northern California Water Association (NCWA) executive committee meeting, and a CSAC Tribal Working Group.
I’ll be at the California Foundation on the Environment and Economy (CFEE) transportation conference on Thursday and Friday. I’m honored to serve on a panel called “Natural Disasters and Climate Change: How Can We Prepare Our Infrastructure and Workforce?”. You can find the full agenda for the conference here.
Additional items on my calendar include reviewing the agenda for the next Board of Supervisors meeting, a prep call for the CFEE panel, a lunch to touch base with Yuba County community development leadership, and an information session about California High Speed Rail. Most of the day on Wednesday will be spent with a field representative from Senator Schiff’s office coming to Yuba County to learn about and tour Yuba Water Agency, and meet with county staff to learn about our County and our priorities and concerns. Thursday evening is an OPUD Board Meeting (agenda).
This week, community events on my calendar include presenting a proclamation to Marysville Police Department in honor of Officer Osmar Rodarte.
