My Recent Activities (Week of 7/21)

Tuesday was a Board of Supervisors meeting. A few highlights from the agenda include:

A few highlights include:

  • Approve agreement with Flock Group Inc. for video surveillance service at ballot drop box located at Linda Fire Station No. 3 in Plumas Lake, CA,
  • Adopt resolution confirming the report of delinquent solid waste charges, and order of assessment to be placed on the property tax roll for fiscal year 2025-26.
  • Receive quarterly update from Community Development and Service Department (video of presentation starts at 8:50)

I wasn’t able to attend the board meeting, or anything else this week, as I spent the week on vacation near Puerto Vallarta

Looking ahead to this week (Week of 7/28)

Since this Tuesday is the 5th Tuesday of the month there is neither a Board of Supervisors meeting nor a Yuba Water Agency meeting.

I have no other board or committee meetings on my calendar this week, and my schedule is fairly light but I do have several items including:

  • A virtual meeting with the Coalition Against Bigger Trucks (CABT)
  • An introductiory lunch with my new host commander at Beale AFB, Lt. Col John Matson of the 1st Reconnanissance Squadron
  • A Rural Representatives of California (RCRC) Legislative Briefing

I’m also excited to give a presentation to the Yuba-Sutter Area Builder & Developer Council at their meeting at the Northstate Building Industry (BIA) office in Roseville.

Community events on my calendar this week included the Plumas Lake Walking Moai and possibly the Yuba Sutter Chamber Happy Hour at the High Wheelers.

Looking ahead to the week after that (Week of 8/4)

Tuesday is a Yuba Water Agency Board of Directors meeting.  The agenda hasn’t been released at the time of this posting, but once it is you can find it here.

Other board and committee meetings on my meeting this week include:

  • Northern California Water Association (NCWA) Board Meeting, which we will be hosting at the new Yuba Water Power Systems HQ in Oregon House
  • Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) Land Use and Natural Resources (LUNR) Committee (agenda will be posted here)

The second half of this week, I’ll head into the Sierra Nevada with my American Leadership Forum (ALF) class for our “Wilderness Experience”.  I’ll be gone almost a week learning valuable leadership skills and developing a deep connection with other leaders in the Sacramento region.  I’m honored to be selected to participate in such a great leadership development program.

Community events on my calendar this week including National Night Out in Wheatland and the Holiday Market Groundbreaking in Plumas Lake.

*Unfortunately, I will mis the Board of Directors meeting as I’ll be out of town for a few days visiting my daughter and the SACOG LUNR meeting as I’ll be out of town for ALF.

… and Looking ahead to the week after that (Week of 8/11)

Tuesday is a Yuba County Board of Supervisors meeting.  The agenda hasn’t been released at the time of this posting, but once it is you can find it here.

Other board and committee meetings on my calendar include:

  • Board of Supervisor Budget Workshop (Tuesday afternoon, all day Wednesday, Thursday morning).  This is open to the public and the schedule will be posted here.
  • Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC), Golden State Finance Authority (GSFA), and Golden State Connect Authority (GSCA) Board meetings.

Additional meetings on my calendar this week include a Yuba County Tobacco Coallition meeting and a Hard Rock Sports and Entertainment Development Update meeting.

Community events on my calendar this week include the Plumas Lake Block Party and the Yuba Sutter Stand Down Opening Ceremony.

*I will Tuesday meetings of the Board of Supervisors due to a conflict with ALF and the Wednesday RCRC/GSFA/GSCA meetings due to a conflict with the Board of Supervisors Budget Workshop.

Thank you for allowing me to serve you!

I really like to make a weekly post, typically on Sunday, reviewing the pervious week and looking forward to the next week but being out of town the next two weekends will make this a challange (sorry Sam), thus the single post covering last week and looking forward for the next three.
