My Recent Activities (Week of 3/23)

Tuesday was a Yuba County Board of Supervisors meeting, and a link to the agenda is here.  Highlights include:

  • Broadband Infrastructure & Environmental Review:  Consider certification of the Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) for the County’s Broadband Infrastructure Project to expand connectivity across Yuba County. 
  • Housing, Grants & Community Development:  Advance multiple housing and community initiatives, including Homekey+ funding with Habitat for Humanity, CDBG grant applications, and required housing progress reporting. 
  • Public Works, Facilities & Infrastructure:  Approve amendments and funding adjustments for key projects, including the Medical & Mental Health Facility, a $600K library project allocation, and roadway improvements. 
  • Public Safety, Emergency Services & Workforce Agreements:  Approve grant authorities for emergency services, update public safety labor agreements, and support regional programs such as FURS and disaster preparedness. 
  • Governance, Property & Community Recognition:  Approve board appointments and committee updates, authorize multiple property negotiations, and recognize community contributions through proclamations and employee service awards.

  • Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) board meeting (agenda)
  • Golden State Finance Authority (GSFA) board meeting (agenda)
  • Golden State Connect Authority (GSCA) board meeting (agenda)

Additional meetings on my calendar this week include a meeting with RCRC at the Capitol with a staffer for Asm Gallagher related to a County Medical Services budget request, an RCRC legislative update call, an informational call about serving on a Cap-to-Cap panel, a Cap-to-Cap Transportation Team meeting, and a meeting with a developer working on an affordable housing project in Yuba County.

Community events on my calendar this week included the dedication of the Officer Rodarte memorial bench at Veteran’s Park in Marysville.

 

Looking ahead to this week (Week of 3/30)

As this Tuesday is the 5th Tuesday of the month, there is neither a Yuba Water Agency board meeting (held on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays) nor a Yuba County Board of Supervisors meeting (held on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays).

Additional meetings on my calendar this week include a meeting and a tour of the Plumas Lake area with some development consultants; a webinar about the county H.R.1 state budget request; a Plumas Lake Specific Plan Advisory group meeting; and a California State Association of Counties (CSAC) visit and tour to Yuba related to Housing, Land Use, and Transportation (HLT).

Community events on my calendar this week include the Plumas Lake Walking Moai kick-off, the Eufay Wood Park Cleanup, and the Plumas Lake NFL Flag Football opening ceremony.
