Weeks of 11/03/25 & 11/10/25

My Recent Activities (Week of 11/03)

Tuesday was a Yuba Water Agency Board of Directors meeting, and a link to the agenda is here.  Highlights include:

  • Community Partnerships:  Receive a presentation from the North Yuba Water District highlighting progress on multiple Yuba Water Agency grant-funded projects supporting water reliability and local infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure Resilience:  Review an update on the New Bullards Bar Tunnel Outage project, a major maintenance and reliability effort critical to the agency’s power generation and water delivery systems.
  • Public Awareness & Branding:  Hear results from the 2025 community awareness and branding survey, assessing public understanding of Yuba Water’s mission, programs, and local impact.
  • Resource Sharing: Consider adoption of a resolution authorizing the transfer of a surplus dump truck to the Browns Valley Irrigation District for continued local use.
  • Regulatory Proceedings:  Closed session updates on ongoing FERC relicensing for the Yuba River Development Project and State Water Resources Control Board matters, including the Bay-Delta Plan and Accord Extension proceedings.

Other board and committee meetings on my calendar include:

  • National Association of Counties (NACo) Transportation Policy Steering Committee
  • Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) Land Use and Natural Resources (LUNR) Committee (agenda)

Additional meetings on my calendar this week include an evening with the Capital Caucus hosted by the Greater Sacramento Economic Council (GSEC) and an American Leadership Forum (ALF) monthly session.

I do not have any community events on my calendar this week, but Tuesday was Election Day.  Thank you to all the poll workers and other volunteers who ensure our voice can be heard.  I participated in a Plumas Walk Walking Moai and went to Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm for “bring your dog day” and to try out the new slide before the end of the season.

Looking ahead to this week (Week of 11/10)

Tuesday is Veterans’ Day, so there is no Board of Supervisors meeting.  There will not be one on the fourth Thursday either due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, so the next meeting will be on December 9th.

There are no other board and committee meetings on my calendar this week.

Additional meetings on my calendar this week include a meeting about Blue Zones and a meeting about Yuba County with Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) staff.  There is a special Wheatland City Council meeting on Monday evening (agenda).

Community events on my calendar this week include a ribbon-cutting for the new Yuba County Jail Medical and Mental Health Facility and the Yuba Sutter Veterans’ Day Parade.
