Weeks of 9/15/25 & 9/22/25

My Recent Activities (Week of 9/15)

Tuesday was a Yuba Water Agency board meeting, and a link to the agenda is here.  Highlights include:

  • Approved a $650k Flood Risk Reduction grant for the City of Wheatland Stormwater Master Plan.
  • Approved a $400k Flood Risk Reduction grant for the Reclamation District 817 Bear River Setback Levee project.
  • Approved an additional $5M+ for other water supply and flood risk reduction grants.
  • Approved a $10k sponsorship for the National Pumpkin Weigh Off

Other board and committee meetings on my calendar included:

  • Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) Monthly Board Meeting (agenda)
  • Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) board meeting (agenda) [RCRC board meetings also include board meetings for the Golden State Finance Authority (GSFA) and the Golden State Connect Authority (GSCA)

Additional meetings on my calendar this week included agenda review for the next board of supervisors meeting, a special Yuba Water Agency board meeting, and the RCRC annual conference in Tahoe.  Due to the conference or other conflicts, I missed the NACo Rural Action Caucus, the NACo West Region monthly meeting, and a Yuba Sutter Transit board meeting (agenda).

There was also a Yuba County Planning Commission meeting (agenda) and  an OPUD Board of Directors meeting (agenda).

Community events on my calendar this week include the Plumas Lake Walking Moai and the PL Flag Football Opening Ceremonies.

Looking ahead to this week (Week of 9/22)

Tuesday is a Yuba County Board of Supervisors meeting, and a link to the agenda is here.  Highlights include:

  • Receive presentation from Measure K Citizens’ Oversight Committee regarding Fiscal Year 2024/2025 annual report.
  • Approve professional services agreement with AECOM Technical Service, Inc. to update Yuba County’s General Plan, Plumas Lake Specific Plan, and related environmental documents.
  • Approve professional services agreement with Mark Thomas & Company, Inc. for the East Linda Gateway: Lindhurst Corridor Revitalization Project.

Additional meetings on my calendar this week include a Wheatland Union High School CTE Advisory Committee meeting, an RCRC Legislative Call-in Session, and a briefing with Congressman Thompson.

Community events on my calendar this week include the Plumas Lake Walking Moai (final one of the season), the Yuba Sutter Farm to Form Dinner, and the National Pumpkin Weigh Off.

  • Plumas Lake Oktoberfest:  Oktoberfest 4th from 3 pm to 8:30 pm at Eufay Wood Park (FB Post)
