My Recent Activities (Week of 9/22)

Tuesday was a Yuba County Board of Supervisors meeting, and a link to the agenda is here.  Highlights include:

  • Received a presentation from the Measure K Citizens’ Oversight Committee regarding the Fiscal Year 2024/2025 annual report.
  • Approved a professional services agreement with AECOM Technical Service, Inc. to update Yuba County’s General Plan, Plumas Lake Specific Plan, and related environmental documents.
  • Approved a professional services agreement with Mark Thomas & Company, Inc. for the East Linda Gateway: Lindhurst Corridor Revitalization Project.
  • Approved an amendment to the agreement with Dominion Voting Systems, Inc. to implement Democracy Suite 5.19 upgrade with annual firmware licenses and warranty, and extend the term to February 28, 2034. (video, starts at 41:40)

  • Yuba Sutter Arts Board Meeting
  • BOS Discretionary Fund Ad Hoc Committee

Additional meetings on my calendar this week include a Wheatland Union High School CTE Advisory Committee meeting, an RCRC Legislative Call-in Session, and a briefing (Yuba County, Yuba Water, and Beale AFB) with Congressman Thompson.

Community events on my calendar this week include the Plumas Lake Walking Moai (final one of the season), the Yuba Sutter Farm to Form Dinner, the National Pumpkin Weigh Off and reception, and the 9/11 Firefighter Fundraiser Dinner.

Looking ahead to this week (Week of 9/29)

There is no Yuba County Board of Supervisors meeting or Yuba Water Agency Board of Directors meeting this week because it’s the 5th Tuesday.

  • National Association of Counties (NACo) Transportation Policy Steering Committee
  • Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) Land Use and Natural Resources (LUNR) Committee (agenda)

Additional meetings on my calendar this week include a meeting with the area representative for Senator Padilla, a webinar from the Institute for Local Government, an OIS briefing, the 2025 Livability Summit hosted by Valley Vision and SACOG, a SACOG lunchtime briefing on the Capitol Area Regional Tolling Authority (CARTA), a SACOG one-day board retreat, and a California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Housing / Land Use / Transportation (HLT) committee planning committee (which I chair).

Community events on my calendar this week include the Plumas Lake Oktoberfest.

  • Plumas Lake Oktoberfest:  Oktoberfest 4th from 3 pm to 8:30 pm at Eufay Wood Park (FB Post)
  • Plumas Lake Community Cleanup on Saturday, October 25th
