Week of 03/03/25

My Recent Activities

Tuesday was a Yuba Water Agency Board of Directors meeting.  Here are a few highlights from the agenda:

  • Receive informational presentation on Reclamation District (RD) 10’s completion of the recent elevated Toe Access Corridor (TAC) project along the Feather River east levee.

I had several other board and committee meetings on my calendar, including:

  • Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) Land Use and Natural Resources (LUNR) Committee – agenda  (I missed due to a conflict with CALCOG)

For the first part of the week,  I was in DC for the National Association of Counties (NACo) annual legislative conference and in addition to typical general and breakout sessions, I met with several California legislators.  Senator Schiff and Senator Pedilla held large group meetings with California supervisors. I met individually, along with Colusa County Supervisor Kent Boes, with staff from Congressman LaMalfa and Congressman Kiley’s offices.  I asked Senator Schiff to support funding allocation to allow USACE to complete the Water Control Manual Update for New Bullards Bar and Oroville.  I had the same ask of the congressmen LaMalfa and Kiley, in addition to thanking them for the recent federal grant for the Plumas Lake Blvd extension, updating them on the South Beale Rd and Beale Expressway projects, asking for assistance with BLM land for recreation in the Yuba Goldfields, and asking for grant assistance with the South County Wastewater Project.

Once I returned from DC, I attended the CALCOG regional leadership forum in Sacramento and the NCWA annual meeting in Chico.  I also participated at a SACOG Lunch & Learn on Mobility Zones (see video, starts at 2:08:28)

This week, there were no community events on my calendar.
