My Recent Activities (Week of 3/30)

As this was the 5th Tuesday of the month, there was neither a Yuba Water Agency board meeting (held on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays) nor a Yuba County Board of Supervisors meeting (held on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays).

Other board and committee meetings on my calendar include:

Additional meetings on my calendar this week include a meeting and a tour of the Plumas Lake area with some development consultants; a Plumas Lake Specific Plan Advisory group meeting; a meeting with Congressman Thompson about the South County Infrastructure Project; and a California State Association of Counties (CSAC) visit and tour to Yuba related to Housing, Land Use, and Transportation (HLT).

Community events on my calendar this week include the Plumas Lake Walking Moai kick-off, the Eufay Wood Park Cleanup, and the Plumas Lake NFL Flag Football opening ceremony.

 

Looking ahead to this week (Week of 4/06)

Tuesday is a Yuba Water Agency Board of Directors meeting, and a link to the agenda is here.  Highlights include:

  • Colgate Penstock Emergency Response & Risk Update – Ongoing emergency contracting review and presentation from ACWA-JPIA on risk pool support related to the incident. 
  • Amended FY 2026 Budget – Adjustments reflecting impacts of the penstock incident, including reduced revenue, shifting priorities, and increased use of reserves. 
  • Wildfire Resilience & Home Hardening Programs – Consider reallocating grant funding to expand the Home Resilience Program, supporting defensible space and wildfire risk reduction efforts. 
  • Financial & Operational Updates – Review of financial statements for General and Power Systems funds through February 2026.

  • Three Rivers Levee Improvement Authority (TRLIA) board meeting (agenda)

Additional meetings on my calendar this week include a California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Housing, Land Use, and Transportation (HLT) committee leadership team to plan our meeting at the annual legislative conference; an agenda review meeting for the next Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) board meeting; a SACOG briefing on transit; a planning meeting for an upcoming SACOG Mega Region Workgroup State Advocacy day; a meet and greet with Katie Porter hosted by the Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC); a Cap-to-Cap Civic Amenities team Railyards tour; and the final session of my year-long American Leadership Forum (ALF) program.

Community events on my calendar this week include the weekly Plumas Lake Walking Moai.
