My Recent Activities (Week of 6/29)
As this week was the 5th Tuesday of the month, there is neither a Board of Supervisors Meeting nor a Yuba Water Agency Board of Directors meeting. The next Yuba Water Agency meeting will be on July 7th, and the next Board of Supervisors meeting will be on July 14th.
Other board and committee meetings on my calendar included:
- A California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Tribal Working Group Meeting
- A National Association of Counties (NACo) Committee meeting
Unfortunately, those two meetings are scheduled for the same time, and I’ll be attending the Tribal Working Group meeting.
Due to the 5th Tuesday and the holiday week, my schedule is unusually light this week, and the only other meeting on my calendar is a potential meeting with a constituent.
Community events on my calendar this week included the Plumas Lake Walking Moai, the Plumas Lake 4th of July Parade, and the Wheatland 4th of July BBQ.
Looking ahead to this week (Week of 7/6)
Tuesday was a Yuba Water Agency board meeting, and a link to the agenda is here. Highlights include:
- Member Unit Water Rates – Consider waiving the annual 2.5% surface water rate increase for Yuba Water’s Member Units, as allowed under existing water supply agreements.
- Colgate Penstock Recovery – Review ongoing emergency contracting actions related to the Colgate Penstock incident and consider continuing emergency authority while repair work progresses.
- Supporting Local Water Reliability – Continue oversight of agency operations and water supply agreements that support communities and agricultural water users throughout Yuba County.
- Governance & Agency Business – Receive the General Manager and Director reports and conduct routine Board business.
- Closed Session – Reconvene at Yuba Water headquarters to discuss existing litigation and conduct annual performance evaluations for the General Manager and General Counsel.
I have no other board or committee meetings on my calendar this week.
I only have one additional meeting on my calendar this week, and it’s with Ampla Health CEO Ben Flores.
