Request for Plumas Lake ZIP Code Submitted

PLUMAS LAKE, CA – Yuba County Supervisor Gary Bradford this week submitted a petition to the U.S. Postal Service requesting a unique ZIP code for the community of Plumas Lake.

Currently, Plumas Lake shares a ZIP code with Arboga, Olivehurst, and West Linda. The petition, signed by 636 Plumas Lake residents, was delivered to the USPS regional office in West Sacramento and accompanied by a letter signed by Bradford, State Senator Jim Nielsen, Assemblyman James Gallagher and Yuba County Supervisor Doug Lofton.

The petition sites community identity, local statistics and potential economic impacts as key reasons for establishing the unique ZIP code. The request suggests that the Olivehurst Post Office continue to serve the proposed ZIP code, in order to minimize costs.
